Family Time Weekend

We were way overdue for family time this weekend with the kids, so we filled it with some special outings...and we're all worn out! Friday night we took the kids to their first UT baseball game (mine as well) to see cousin Taylor pitch. They loved everything, especially the fireworks, hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels, and nachos. And to all my fellow Red Raiders, rest assured that my heart still belongs to Tech. Mima even said Makenna's been under too much training because her hand wanted to do a guns up and it took some practice to get the hook 'em horn sign working for her! Last night it was fun hearing David downstairs with Kyle explaining the game of baseball to him as they watched a game together. Yesterday we went to the Red Poppy Festival in Georgetown for a few hours and the highlight was eating their ice cream of course! Today we finally took pictures in the bluebonnets and took a quick trip to Home Depot to buy some plants and seed packets. The kids can't wait to plant their seeds. They have a whole year now to wait to see them grow! Good thing the plant we planted in our little flowerbox Kyle made at Lowe's workshop last week has already started sprouting--pinto beans are good at that! Thank you tenth grade biology for teaching me about growing pinto bean plants and identifying wildflowers. Kyle thanks you too.
